Incredible

I've always quite admired Jim Murphy as a politician because he fought and won what was previously a solid Conservative seat of Eastwood on the outskirts of Glasgow.

And he did this with a mixture of talent and hard work, but most of all on a platform of New Labour politics with Tony Blair as leader which saw the Labour Party win an unprecedented three general elections in a row.

But having won over the voters in Eastwood with his enthusiastic support for the New Labour's 'third way', Jim has suddenly discovered hitherto left-wing political leanings.

So now, all of a sudden, Jim is vehemently opposed to things like university tuition fees which he voted to support (and subsequently increase) as an MP in the Westminster Parliament.

I suppose all politicians share something in common with chameleons in that they can change in the blink of an eye to suit the surrounding circumstances although in Jim's case I think he's taken things a bit too far to be convincing.
