Mockery of Religion



I'm still waiting to hear that the civilised Muslim word has declared 'jihad' or a holy war against the religious fascists of IS who are making a complete mockery of the Islamic faith. 

 Now I keep hearing and reading that Islam is a religion of peace, but it's not a pacifist belief system and in the past we have witnessed a jihad being declared over trivial issues such as Salman Rushdie's book The Satanic Verses.

 Yet the Islamic State is murdering people for fun, selling women and children into slavery, persecuting religious and other minorities, often in the most gruesome ways imaginable including dousing a fellow Muslim in petrol and burning him to death, while their supporters watched the cruel scene on 'live' TV like some kind of medieval punishment for a condemned witch.

 So you would think that the response to this kind of brutality and religious fascism would be to demand the the mad dogs of IS are eliminated; a call to arms across the Islamic world to unite with the rest of the international community and put an end to this vile group for once and all.

 Because if you ask me, IS is making a mockery of the Islamic faith and its claim to be a religion of peace.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
